What is the REACH standard ?
REACH is a European regulation (regulation n ° 1907/2006) which entered into force in 2007 to secure the manufacture and use of chemical substances in European industry. The aim is to identify, assess and control chemical substances manufactured, imported and placed on the European market.
Since May 31, 2018, it is no longer possible to manufacture or import substances at more than one tonne per year, if they have not been registered. Indeed, according to the principle decreed by REACH, “No data, no market”.
Distributors and users of chemical substances are also concerned because of the risk of illegal use if they continue to source these substances after May 31, 2018. It is therefore essential for them to check with suppliers that the substances contained in their products or articles used have been correctly recorded.
